Olivier Iteanu, Esq., lawyer and teacher at the Universities of Paris I Sorbonne and Paris XI Sceaux, is designated by the ICANN in the WHOIS Policy Review Team, a commission for revision of the management rules of the domain name and IP addresses database called WHOIS. http://www.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-30sep10-en.htm

The commission has 14 members, and includes three independent experts, representing the five continents.

The commission's objective is to analyse the current Whois management rules, evaluate them towards the goals of security and stability of the network and the Internet domain name system, to determine the possible means to enhance them and formalize this analysis and these proposals in a report to be published.

The Whois is a database listing the Internet domain names and the IP addresses, which is accessible to the public.

The ICANN is a not for profit corporation created under Californian laws, which ensures since 1998 the management of certain essential functions of the Internet such as the domain names, the IP addresses.
